Hello Garrett Gators!

My name is Mrs. Glenn and I am excited to be a member of Garrett Elementary's "Road To Success" team. Most importantly, I am thrilled to be your media specialist! It's going to be a fun year full of lots of reading, learning, and new adventures. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us. I want to get to know all about every gator, but I am going to tell you a few things about me first. I was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama (birth place of Helen Keller). I attended Alabama State University and earned three degrees. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have a Master's Degree in Library Media Education. I also have an Educational Specialist degree in Library Media Education. I taught fifth grade for four years before becoming a media specialist. This year I will start my fourteenth year as a media specialist at Garrett! So that's a total of eighteen years for me as a Garrett Gator. I am married (Rodney) and have four beautiful daughters (Syieve, Aryiah, Aubrey, and Reese). I also have two twin miniature Schnauzers (Rex and Rylo). In my leisure time, I thoroughly enjoy being a wife, a mother, a dance mom, and a softball mom.  I am very confident that this is going to be an amazing year as I lead you through your "Reading Road to Success.''

Hey Gators!

My name is Joel Thomas, or Coach Thomas as most students know me. This is my seventh year as the Physical Education teacher at Garrett Elementary. I have taught PE and coached various athletic programs in Montgomery County for 30 years. I earned my undergrad from the University of Alabama and my M.Ed from the University of West Alabama. I love teaching physical education and equipping students to make healthy choices. I am an avid Bama football fan.

My name is Arlene Adams and I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I graduated from Alabama State University. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and I also received my Master’s degree in School Counseling. I have twenty-two years of teaching experience in the field of education.

I have worked at many different schools with the Montgomery Public School system. However, this will be my first year at Garret Elementary as the School Counselor. I look forward to working with the students, parents and the staff this school term. My goal is to help the students achieve their goals in the areas of academic growth, personal growth, and social growth. I will collaborate with my colleagues on a continuous basis to help provide ideas/suggestions to meet their student’s needs in all areas of the educational setting.

As the School Counselor, I will constantly work with our school administrators, our school stakeholders, and our school parents to bring school programs that will
benefit the student’s educational accomplishment.

Hey Gators!

My name is Ms. Jennifer Robinson and I am so excited to be your new STEM Lab Facilitator here at Garrett Elementary. I have previously taught Kindergarten here at Garrett for the past 9 years and I am beyond excited about this new adventure. 

This year, in our state of the art STEM Lab, we will be doing a lot of hands-on experiments which will build your scientific skills, fuel your curiosity and encourage each of you to find your STEM Identity!
