Hey Gators!

My name is Jill Mitchell and I teach 1st Grade at Garrett. 

I began my educational career  in 1985 and I have been a Garrett Gator for the last 20 years and have experience teaching in kindergarten, first grade and second grade. 

Even though I have over 35 years of teaching experience, I still get excited at the beginning of each school year.  I am looking forward to meeting my new students each year, getting to know them, and helping them to grow into confident learners.

My name is Sheondra Dotson and I am from Montgomery, Al. I graduated from Alabama State University with a bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. This is my second year teaching 1st Grade at Garrett Elementary. I’m so excited about this upcoming school year and I can’t wait to continue to help shape the minds of our young scholars. Go Gators

Hello Gator Family!

I am Philip R. Perry. I am excited to be a part of the 1st Grade Team here at Garrett Elementary. I began my teaching journey in 2018. I have a Master's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from AUM. I firmly believe that every child can learn and that every child deserves a quality education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. I am honored to teach the future leaders of our community, state, and nation. One of my favorite quotes about education is from Nelson Mandela. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
