Mr. Jake Luckie
Hey Gator Family!
My name is Jake Luckie and this is my second year at Garrett. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!) before heading to AUM to receive my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my Masters of Education in Educational Technology. I taught 4th Grade last year, but SURPRISE this year I am in the 5th Grade! I am super excited to see all of my amazing students again and can not wait to get on the "Road to Success" with them this year! We're going to make this the best year! Go Gators!

Mrs. Jovita Operton
Hello Garrett Gaotrs!
I am Jovita Richelle Arrington-Operton.
I am a proud wife of 25 years(Robert), and the proud mother of two daughters (Jecolia: Senior)(Jasperina: Junior). I am a second generation educator through my late mother Dr. Juanita Roby Arrington(Joe Arrington). My current role for MPS is 5th grade ELA Teacher for Garrett Elementary School. I will be starting my 5th year with MPS and first year at Garrett. I have taught ELA during my tenure with MPS.
My goal in the classroom is to shape young minds into life-long learners who are striving to be college and career ready as well as business owners. My aspiration is to receive a doctorate degree in School Psychology or Education. I achieved my Bachelor's from the University of Alabama and my Master's from the University of Phoenix.
One fact about me is that I like reading Harry Potter and watching movies. I also like criminal justice dramas. My favorite quote is "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." -Malcolm X
