I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Carver Elementary Arts Magnet! It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I embark on this journey, working together with you to provide the best learning experience for our wonderful students. With 29 years in the field of education, including 17 years as an administrator within the MPS district, I come to Carver Elementary with the heart of a servant leader and a passion for empowering young minds. My journey has been shaped by the dedication and resilience of both students and educators, and I am committed to continuing the legacy of excellence at Carver Elementary.

Before my career in education, I proudly served in the United States Army National Guard, where I learned the importance of leadership, teamwork, and commitment. These values are the bedrock of my approach to education, and I believe they will resonate with our school community.

What makes my connection to Carver Elementary even more special is that I, too, am a product of the MPS district. I attended schools within the same district where many of our students are learning today. This deep-rooted familiarity with the community drives my determination to provide the best possible educational experience for every child entrusted to our care.

As we embrace this fresh start, my vision for Carver Elementary is to foster a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where creativity, arts, and academic excellence thrive hand in hand. Our school's commitment to arts education will continue to be at the heart of our approach, as we believe that nurturing creativity plays a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals.

I am dedicated to maintaining and building upon the strong sense of community that Carver Elementary is known for. Communication between home and school is very important,, and I promise to keep an open line of communication with all parents and guardians. I am eager to collaborate with you to ensure that each child's unique talents and needs are supported, allowing them to flourish and reach their full potential.

I firmly believe in the power of arts education, and I am committed to nurturing creativity and self-expression in our students. Our arts magnet program sets us apart from any of the other elementary schools in the district, and I am eager to work to strengthen and expand this essential aspect of our school's identity.
