I joined the Highland Gardens Family in November of 2016. I have served as a Curriculum Specialist and Accountability Interventionist before becoming an Assistant Principal in August of 2018.

I am a proud graduate of East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana. I received a full athletic scholarship to play basketball at Faulkner State Community College where I earned my Associate of Science degree. I continued my academic and athletic career at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In July of 2012, I graduated from AUM with my Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership, and in July of 2014, I graduated from AUM with my Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership.

I have worked with Montgomery Public Schools for the past 22 years in several capacities. I  have been a Teacher (6th grade), Reading Coach (6-8), Curriculum Specialist (K-5), Accountability Interventionist (K-5), and Assistant Principal (K-5). I have worked at McIntyre Middle School (12 years), Southlawn Middle School (5 ½ years), and Highland Gardens Elementary (5 years).

I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two sons, Michael and Matthew. On weekends, I enjoy sleeping in, going to church, and watching my son, Michael, play baseball. I love to go to the beach and listen to the waves crash against the shore. You will most likely always find me laughing and smiling and getting to know our students.

Hello, Highland Gardens Elementary School, Home of the FIERCE Panthers,

I was born and raised in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida. I graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor's and a Master’s degree in education. Additionally, I received my Education Specialist endorsement from Auburn University at Montgomery. I began my career in education as a Physical Education teacher at Southlawn Elementary School for one year. I then became the Technology Coordinator at Halcyon Elementary School for five years. Currently, I serve with the 206th Transportation Company of the United States Army Reserve. In my spare time, I enjoy making memories with my family, going to church, working out, playing and watching sports, and eating sweets. It is a pleasure to serve as one of your assistant principals. I look forward to building and developing lifelong relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, and stakeholders as we work together to improve mental, emotional, and academic success for all students.

    Sincerely,

    Sharod Campbell
